SPECTRUM TEST BOXES

Dynamic Load Box

The Dynamic Load Box is used to test the stimulus cables for the spECTrum and to perform the functional performance tests in the service manual. It is dynamic because when the stimulus cable or Hand-Held Electrode Cable is connected to the Dynamic Load Box, the impedance will be 1800 ohms, but when the stimulus is actually delivered to the Dynamic Load Box, it will be 300 ohms (much like a real patient). The Dynamic Load Box also has an internal 300:1 divider that connects to a BNC connector so it can be connected to an oscilloscope to observe the output waveform. It can also be used to validate the calibration of the spECTrum.

spECTrum Sensor Test Box

The Sensor Test Box is used with the spECTrum to test patient monitoring cables with safety leads and to perform the functional performance tests in service manual. It is configured to test up to four EEG monitoring channels, one ECG monitoring channel and one EMG monitoring channel at the same time. The Sensor Test Box can also be used to validate the sensor channel calibration. By setting the chart recorder to maximum gain, the signal printed on the chart paper will be full scale when the calibration is correct. This procedure is detailed in the functional performance tests.
